New drama group holds first audition

AUDITIONS for the first play to be produced by the newly reformed Spilsby Amateur Dramatics Society will be held tomorrow (Wednesday, July 6).

The debut production is of Allan Bennet’s Habeas Corpus to be performed at Spilsby Theatre during the last week in October.

Founding group member Chris Rozier said: “We are a brand new group, we are incredibly enthusiastic and we want as many people to come along as possible.”

The play is a comedy with slightly raunchy undertones that was first performed in the West End starring Alec Guinness.

There are 11 acting roles available ranging from major leads to small cameos as well as backstage and directing roles.

Interested parties are also invited to join the society and take part in subsequent productions.

The auditions will take place in the theatre from 7.30pm.
