Pokemon GO mania will be seen in Skegness in August as fans come together in a day dedicated to searching for the colourful characters.
Andi Kirkham, who runs the Pokemon GO Lincoln and Lincolnshire UK Facebook community, has set up an event page for the Skegness day on August 14 and feels it will attract lots of Pokemon enthusiasts to the town.
He said: “Truthfully I’m a big traveller so like to go to different places, but with so many Pokemon Go groups popping up all over the region it motivated me on days off to travel more around the local areas. (There are several thousands players in the Lincolnshire region in amongst groups.)
“It started to get me thinking about how well the small local group meet ups go. I began talking to the larger community and we discussed as a community about where people wanted to go for a social outing. Skegness was a popular choice, whether it be off traversing through Skegness and seeing other people, or just out on the beach after a hard week of work and game playing.
“It just became a really good idea and a fun one to start planning. Skegness is also a very popular holiday destination and for the ‘Go-ers’ as we have been nicknamed. It’s a fitting place to come and enjoy a really good day together and get to know our community.”
