Strictly ‘Tea’ Dancing

THE Embassy Theatre in Skegness reverberated to the sounds of dozens of dancing feet at the weekend, when the first of its Tea Dances in 2011 took place.

The dance event, which follows hard on the heels of the theatre’s successful Christmas Day Dancing, attracted well over 100 people on Sunday.

Among those who were stepping out in style were Walter Briggs and his dance partner Marjorie. Walter has just celebrated his 91st birthday and spent a delightful afternoon dancing to music provided once again by Gary and Gwen Cole, both of whom have many years experience at hosting dance events.

Walter and Marjorie, who is 85, first met three years ago at another dance event in the town and have been partnering each other ever since. They both stated that they had a glorious time and it was wonderful to see an event of this nature taking place at the Embassy Theatre.

They are both looking forward to the next Embassy Tea Dance which will take place on Sunday, March 27 at 2pm.
