Skegness actor features in Coronation Street

Skegness acting talent was on show in TV’s Coronation Street.

Stefan Michaels appeared as a drinking buddy of off-the-wagon alcoholic Peter Barlow who took to drink after news that his womanising had led to a pregnancy.

He was rescued from Stefan’s character, also called Pete, by Steve McDonald in this one-off appearance which Stefan hopes will be repeated.

The former Skegness grammar school pupil began his entertainment career in the town and still lives in the place he calls home.

“I used to travel to do a lot of comedy stand-up shows but I’m concentrating on my acting now,” he said.

“I’m lucky to have acting trainer David Johnson who also trained Anna Friel and Suranne Jones and actors such as Antony Cotton and Rob James Collier.”

It’s all a far cry from 39-year-old Stefan’s very early days working in a Skegness jewelry store.

He placed ‘help’ in the window to advertise a job when a pregnant lady walked past, thought the shop was being robbed and an armed police armed response unit was sent.
