Animated Oscar hopeful to screen at film club

ANIMATED Oscar hopeful The Illusionist is the latest lauded movie to screen as part of Louth Film Club’s 2011 season.

The film is set to screen next Monday (February 28) at the Playhouse Cinema in Louth and organisers are promising a real treat for those who venture out to see it.

“The release is regarded by many as one of the most beautiful animated films ever made,” said a spokesperson.

“Set in Scotland in the 1950s it tells the story of a conjuror, Tatischeff (Tati’s original name) and Alice, the young woman he befriends as he struggles to find work in the Highlands and in Edinburgh,” they added.

The Illusionist is certificate PG and tickets cost £3.50 for members or £5.70 (£4.50 concessions) for non-members.

The show starts at 7.30pm.
