This year’s annual butterfly release by The Butterfly Hospice takes place at three venues on Sunday, July 5.
The event is an opportunity for people to come together to release hundreds of colourful butterflies in a celebration of life or in memory of a loved one.
A spokesman for the hospice, in Rowan Way, Boston, said: “We are very grateful to Westwood Lakes who continue to support us by giving access to such beautiful surroundings to release the butterflies.
“We are also pleased to announce that the Crown Hotel in Skegness and Springfield’s Festival Gardens in Spalding will also be offering their wonderful facilities for a release.”
This year Pilgrim Hospital Radio have kindly agreed to attend the event at Westwood Lakes, giving improved sound quality to enable everyone to enjoy the opening speeches, readings and a performance from Boston West Academy’s choir.
The butterfly releases will take place at The Crown Hotel, Drummond Road, Skegness, at 11am; Springfield’s Festival Gardens, Camelgate, Spalding at 1pm, and Westwood Lakes, Wyberton, Boston, at 10.30am.
There is a suggested donation of £5, payable on the day, to cover the cost of one butterfly.
