The headline act has been announced for this year’s SO Festival, with revellers being told to expect a ‘spectacular’ aerial performance.
Mù by Transe Express will transform Skegness into what is billed as a ‘magical garden’ at the close of this year’s SO Festival on Saturday, July 2.
A UK premiere, the show will see a monumental structure open like a giant music box high in the air – wowing visitors with a trip through the elements and taking them on a journey from the Earth to the Moon, all guided by salamander gargoyles.
Volunteers from across East Lindsey will also become part of the show.
Nicole Ragaigne, international production manager at Transe Express, said: “We have a really fantastic show for this year’s SO Festival that we think visitors will really enjoy – we’re looking forward to seeing everyone in Skegness.
“SO Festival brings together a whole host of amazing artists and performers and we are very proud to be a part of it this year.”
Trans Express are just one of a number of acts that will visit East Lindsey during the course of SO Festival 2016.
The annual free event will bring nine days of family entertainment across Mablethorpe, Horncastle, Alford, Louth, Spilsby and Woodhall Spa and Skegness from Saturday, June 25, to Sunday, July 3.
This year’s festival focuses on the elements – earth, air, fire and water – taking inspiration from the rural, agricultural and coastal landscapes of East Lincolnshire.
Festival director Lorna Fulton, said: “Mù is going to be an absolutely fantastic close to the show on Saturday night – it’s really spectacular so visitors are in for a real treat. We’re very excited that Transe Express have chosen SO Festival for its UK premiere of this spectacular show.
“This is just one of a whole host of fantastic acts we have not only in Skegness by across East Lindsey during the course of the festival, so we’re sure this is going to be the best year yet for SO Festival.
“There is something for all the family to enjoy throughout the week and we are looking forward to rounding off the Saturday night with what is going to be something hugely exciting.”
Audiences will be able to see Transe Express perform at 10pm on Saturday, July 2, at the Embassy Car Park in Skegness.
