Long-running, globe-trotting Abba tribute show Abba Mania comes to Skegness this weekend, ready to honour Sweden’s ‘fab four’.

The award-winning production plays the Embassy Theatre on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Since its creation in 1999, the show has gone on to be performed more than 3,000 times in excess of 30 countries.

International dates have been as far afield as Venezuela, Tahiti, Mexico, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Luxembourg, as well as Abba’s homeland of Sweden.

Along the way, highlights included: an 18-week run at the Strand Theatre on London’s West End and a 21-date sold-out stint at the Deutsches Theater, in Munich, both in 2002; winning a coveted Radio Regenbogen award for best musical and selling 10,000 tickets for a show at Cologne Arena, both in 2003; and playing to an audience of more than 11 million in 2004 as part of a one-off TV special to celebrate 30 years since Abba came to prominence with Waterloo in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest.

Audience members on Saturday can expect such Abba hits as Mamma Mia, Voulez-Vous, Dancing Queen, The Winner Takes It All, Super Trouper and many more.

Tickets are priced at £21.50 (£10 for children).
