Warren wins on a tough day

A LOT of heavy overnight rain knocked the fish off feeding in the Skegness Southview open on Tuesday, August 7.

This overnight weather lead to a close match in which Graham Warren of Southview came out on top, with small carp from peg 22.

Graham fished pellet waggler and pole with meat and paste to land 30lb 10oz.

In second came Paul O’Carrroll from Chapel, with a cruey net on paste weighing in at 22lb 10oz from peg 13.

Later in the week, at the Southview Skegness Open on Saturday, August 12, Dave Saxon of Southview won the day. Fishing from peg 20 and using pellet waggler and a special pure pellet mix at 30 yards he had 15 carp to 5lb to total a grand haul of 60lb.

In a close second came Terry Moakes, also of Southview, fishing on Pure Pellet and a special pure pellet mix in his glowing thod. Moakes had small carp for 58lb. The weather made for a reasonable day’s fishing but the wind was very gusty.
