Skegness FC 6

Scamblesby 0

SKEGNESS FC moved to the top of the table after a convincing win over Scamblesby.

In a largely one sided game, Skegness got their first goal after 10 minutes, when Reid latched onto Lonslow’s ball to side foot home.

Five minutes later they had their second, with leading scorer Liles shaking off his marker and firing home.

After 25 minutes, Skegness were dealt a double blow with Reid and Lonslow both having to come off with injuries, and substitutes Wager and Courtney both came on as their replacements.

Five minutes before the break, Skegness got their third, when Liles sent Bee clear and his centre pass was met by Wager to crash home his first of the season.

The second half saw the introduction of Fairburn, and after only being on the pitch for just five minutes he got his first goal.

Hardy’s flick released him to run clear of the Scamblesby defence to slot past the oncoming keeper.

The back four welcomed Akers in to play his first game of the season and, along with Lyal, Bee and captain Minor, they made sure that Simpson had an easy afternoon.

With 20 minutes to go, Critchlow’s pass sent Liles clear and his pull back was met by man of the match Fairburn to grab his second.

The goal of the game came with five minutes left, when a long ball by Lyal was met by Fairburn, who flicked it over the head of the oncoming defender and nut megged the ‘keeper for his third.

The club and management wish to thank the Gunby Inn and the Hall family for their kit sponsor and continued support of the club.
