Market Rasen 40 Skegness 14

Skegness 2nd XV travelled to Market Rasen on Saturday with a side that showed promise in terms of youth; with over half of the team under 25.

Sadly Market Rasen proved far too strong and well drilled, with Skegness missing far too many tackles to manage such strong opposition.

Encouraging signs included hard working performances from Schofield, Phellps, Young and Wilkinson, with newcomers Harvey and Whitwham.

Stepping up to the mark, Dean Brian yet again shone for Skegness.

The sides ability to stay together and play in such a spirited way, especially in the second half is a credit to all the players.

A huge thank you to Richard Linnell and Phil Stout for playing for the opposition to enable an appropriately contested game.

The game marked Marvin Spikings’ last appearance for the club and all at Skegness RFC

shall miss him. Thank you Marvin for your support and commitment. We hope to see you back soon.
