Skegness Tri Club members turned out on a beautiful autumn morning to compete in the Skegness 10km race.
Conditions were perfect for great racing, with very little wind and cool but sunny weather.
The course followed the same route as last year with the start and finish line at Butlins. The popular race weaved through traffic-free roads and local caravan parks on a two-loop course, great for spectators with double the opportunity to see friends and family competing. The road race proved to be as popular as ever with nearly all 1,000 entries sold.
The race takes place on completely flat terrain, so many runners make the most of the opportunity to get a personal best time for the 10k distance. Fantastic results for club members came from Ben Evison, who finished third, and Abbey Young, who was the eighth female to finish. Club results: Ben Evison 34.35, Pete Nicholls 45.27, Abbey Young 44,47, Michael Irving 52.20, Melanie Wheeler 53.03, Sandra Watson 1:00.07, Jay Harding 1:05.42.
