Skegness superkart racer Josh Rayman maintained his improved form at the British 125cc Superkart Championship last weekend at Brands Hatch.

After securing a pair of 10th place finishes at Anglesey in July, Rayman claimed 10th and 14th place finishes in Kent.

In the first race he gained two positions to take 13th by the end of the first lap, running close to the three karts in front, before intermittent engine problems caused him to fall into a fight for 14th.

Race two followed a similar pattern, although Rayman was out of position on the start after struggling to clear the engine on the warm-up lap.

After lap one, Rayman was following Phil Garrett and Neil Robinson who came together on lap five. Garrett recovered to overtake Rayman, and they took the chequered flag in ninth and 10th respectively.

But a failed ignition, picked up during warm-up, prevented Rayman from making the starting grid for the third and final race.

He said: “It was disappointing not to get out in the last race as it would have been good to see the changes we made on track, but taking another 10th place finish and matching the pace of those in front of us was a good result for Parker Motorsport.”

Rayman is next out in the British 125cc Superkart Championship at Oulton Park, in Cheshire, on October 4.
