This weekend, Skegness Amateur Swimming Club took part in the Meridian Sprint Meet at Louth.

The team of Isaac Banham, Aiden Hawdon, Kayleigh Alexander and Lucy and Alex Parker all achieved some excellent personal best times against some very strong competition from Louth, Grimsby, City of Lincoln Pentaqua and Gainsborough Swimming Clubs.

However the stars in the team were the siblings Lucy and Alex, who stormed away with 13 personal bests, six medals and places in the Lincolnshire County qualifiers in 2016.

Alex will represent Skegness in the 50 and 100m breaststroke and Lucy will represent Skegness in the 50m butterfly.

This year the county championship rules changed and some age groups were amalgamated, so some swimmers have to compete against rivals up to two years older.

The Parker siblings, along with the rest of the Performance Squad, are now working hard for the competition.
