The William Hill Darts League hosted their Curry with Caven night at the Welcome Inn on Friday.

Pro ace Jamie Caven was in attendance for the evening, which began with a curry buffet before getting down to the oche action.

Caven, having only arrived from Australia the day before, showed no signs of jetlag as he played from 8.30pm to beyond midnight.

Spectators lost count of the maximums that he threw, but his best leg was a 12 darter and his highest finish was a fantastic 167.

Caven beat all that played him, even when he played a couple of legs scoring only on 25s and bull, and had to finish on 26.

He then won legs with scoring on only white and green numbers, and then on only red and blacks.

He then played a leg where he had to score three different colours on each throw, while also throwing in some trick shots - finishing on double one while standing on a chair, and hitting doubles covered by card.

This was Caven’s third appearance in Skegness this year, after presenting the league trophies in May and taking part in and winning the Pro-Am in September.

The Pro-Am will be taking place again next year, and Caven will return.

The Christmas Funbus will take place on December 13 with Tony O’Shea visiting four pubs in one afternoon with an exhibition at each pub.

He will take in the Seaview, Wainfleet Social, Burgh’s
Red Lion and the Welcome Inn.

Tickets cost £10 and details are available from Chris Fletcher on 07789 405 588.

On January 22 there will be an exhibition at the Liberal Club with nine-time World Champion Trina Gulliver and two-time World Champion Lisa Ashton.

The league wants to clarify the rule, which was introduced this year.

If you score more than you have left or within one point, you are deemed to have bust and go back to your original score.
