Skegness & District Running Club are Xtreme Challenge champions.

Members of Skegness & District Running Club were among the 320-plus participants who braved the muddy waters and obstacles to complete a gruelling 5.5-mile trek at Crowle to become the Seven Lakes Xtreme Challenge Team Winners.

The team prize is given to the club with the highest positioned first three runners home.

Stuart Cragg, from Spilsby, Norman Smith, and Lee Winter, both from Boston, lifted the trophy by finishing fourth, eighth and 18th respectively, giving the club its first team trophy since forming last November.

Six further club members managed to complete the course as well and, in true team style, crossed the finish line as one.

The race involved mud, trail, woodland and wading through seven lakes of various depths.

It was a very friendly affair with helping hands at every obstacle and, at the end, a hose down by the local fire
department bought smiles all round.
