World champion guests at presentation evening

It was quite a night at the Working Men’s club with world champion Scott Waites and MC John Fowler in residence.

Scott took on 20 players and threw some fantastic darts with some great exhibition shots.

However, on the night two league players did manage to beat him! The players were both from league champions, WMC Steelers. First to overcome the world champion was doubles runner-up, Carl Abbiss; going out in 15 darts.

Then singles runner up Shaun Wilson got the win.

Scott took on singles champion outsiders Martin bell in a best of 3 game with the World champion taking it 2-1.

John made the evening run smoothly and although it was the first time we have had an MC, its something we will do again and look forward to working with him in the near future.

Our sponsors, Ladbrokes provided some 180 cards and also made the stage-setting first class and gave out free bets to all that played Scott.

A special thank you must go to all the staff at Ladbrokes for running the raffle and working so hard on the night.

All in all, it was a great end to a fantastic season and the league is already looking forward to next year. Also, watch out for a special league announcement coming next month.
