Skegness’ Jack Mockeridge will be among the 19 cadets from Lincolnshire ACF who will be representing the Eastern Region at the National Army Cadets Athletics Championships.

Jack, 15, is a sergeant at the Skegness Army Cadets, and he will be representing the Eastern Region in the intermediate 4x100m relay.

The event will be held at the Meres Stadium, Grantham, on Saturday.

The selected athletes had to battle against tough competition at county and regional events to book their places in the team after competing earlier last month at Boston’s Princess Royal Sports Arena.

Action at Grantham starts at 11am, when hundreds of cadets from all over the UK compete in the track and field events.

This season, Lincolnshire ACF has shown its prowess in the 100m, where they represent the Eastern Region in the Intermediate male and female cadet and senior male categories.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that both male and female 4x100m intermediate teams are from the Lincolnshire Battalion.

As overall ACF national champions in 2014, Eastern Region will be hoping once again to proudly parade the silverware.
