Skegness has a new champion after 16-year-old cage fighter George Chambers won an Amateur Cage Battles belt recently.

George, from the Skegness Freestyle Kickboxing (SFK) Gym on Heath Road, brought the belt home after a great win in the cage against Liverpool opponent Jake Larrier.

Jake fought hard throughout the 70kg bout but George dominated all three rounds to take the title with a unanimous decision.

George is now undefeated in the cage with nine wins and no losses and is looking forward to defending his title and retaining his belt.

George said: “I am proud to win the belt and follow my dreams of becoming a champion. Thanks to my brother Ben for coaching me and everyone at SFK gym for helping me and thanks to my mum, dad, brother Chris and friends for supporting me.”

Chief instructor Ross Flay said: “It was awesome to see George win the belt we all knew he could do it and he really deserves it as he works very hard in the gym and dedicates much of his time to training.”

George will be back in the cage in December fighting at the UCMAA show in Norwich.
