Steelers are the darts league champions

In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division One Darts League only one game remained.

All honours and relegations are sorted with WMC Steelers crowned as champions and Wainfleet Outsiders runners-up,

The two promoted teams, Liberal Adams Family, and Seaview Raiders are relegated back to division two,

Results this week saw Seaview Raiders succumb to Wainfleet Outsiders 11-1, WMC Steelers beat Ex Service Sports 12-0, Liberal Adams Family lost by 10-2 against Ex Service Cobras and Ex Service 501s lost 4-8 against Barkham Arms. There were 180s for S Wison, M Bell and two for Seaview captain Steve Emsen.

In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division Two it’s a two-horse race and Liberal Lads, and Finnigans are promoted.

Just the small matter of who wins the league is to be decided and it’s Liberal that hold top spot, three points clear with two games to go.

In the second division this week Ex Servic C beat Welcome Anchors 8-4, Finnigans beat Cricket Club 11-1, Vine lost against Liberal Lads 8-4, Liberal Us lost 5-7 against WMC Aces.

The Welcome Hillbillies won a single match to Royal Oak’s 11 with a 180 for S Rands.

There is a knock out competition at the Marine Boathouse this Saturday, April 12. There is a £5 entry fee with all money will paid out in prizes.

Registration is 11am-12 noon with toes at the oche at for 12.30pm.

There is a 10 per cent discount on drinks for all entries.

Presentation night is fast approaching and this year the league have secured the services of ‘the rocket’ Ronnie Baxter.

He will be taking on 20 league players and presenting the trophies,

There will be five places to play him up for grabs and all league players can enter the free raffle to play him.

The Ladbrokes darts league this year will be having a summer league.

It is due to start in two weeks time after the end of the regular season.

Only four players are required per team.

It is to be a singles and doubles format open to both men and ladies.

A meeting has been arranged for Friday, April, 25 at WMC in the children’s room at 7.30pm to discuss the format and rules.
