In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division One, league leaders 501s took on the Sports and were locked together at 3-3 after the singles.
However, 501s took the advantage winning the first pairs, only for the Sports to come back to win the next two and the match.
Graham Froud top scored for the Sports with 125 and 140 and Mark Forman 135, 140, 180, Gary Garton 2 x 140, and Graham Fitton 121, 125 and 140 were 501s high scorers.
Finnegan’s went down 11-1 to Arctic Shrew Monkeys, With Bill Proom 139, 140 the top scorer for Finnegan’s.
Barkham Arms took on the division’s newcomers, Seaview Lads and looked in control as they led 5-3, however the Seaview fought back and ran out eventual winners 7-5.
Ken Wilson hit 121, 2 x 140 for the Barkham and Terry Cox 132, 140 top scored for the away side.
Marine Steelers won 11-1 away at the Ex Service Cobras as Cobras’ Darrell Webb hit 125, 139 and a 16-darter, while Steelers had Shaun Willson score 120, 3 x 140 and Carl Abbiss with 2 x 180 on the mark.
Carl also had a 14-dart pairs leg with Partner Mark Simpson.
In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division Two, league leaders Vine took on Liberal Adams Family and it was the away side that took the match winning 7-5.
Richard Fuller checked out on 114 and Vines’ C Melon hit an 18 dart leg, and T Clingan scored 2 x 140.
Ex Service C took full advantage of the leaders slip up with a hard fought 7-5 win over Cricket Club and move to the top of the table, helped by a 118 finish from Dean Carnall.
Lowly Welcome Hillbilies took on Royal Oak and were locked together at -5, but it was the Hillbillies duo of A Bell and N Ward that took the game to give the home side their first win of the season, with N Ward hitting 123 and 140.
The Welcome Anchors moved into second spot in the league with an 8-4 win away at WMC Aces.
Aces had captain Dave Redding score 180 and Anchors had Lee Dore hitting 129, 137, and a 2 x 140.
Seaview Raiders were cruising 5-1 after the singles in their game with Liberal Us, but had to wait until the last pairs to secure the win, with Kev West, and Geoff Poulter getting the all important double winning the match 7-5.
The Tony O’Shea fun bus trip is this weekend, (Sunday, December 14).
Tony will hold four exhibitions in one day and while the bus is long sold out, league members can still be part of the day,
The day starts at the Seaview at 11.45 then moves to the Wainfleet Social at 1.45, then on to Duke of Wellington for 3.45, and finally, the Marine Boat House for 5.45,
