Runners from Skegness Coasters were faced with windy conditions at the annual Cleethorpes New Year’s Day 10k, but fortunately the driving rain held off until after the race was finished.
The 10k run is organised by Cleethorpes Athletics Club and was once again a well-organised, well-marshalled event, with plenty of support around the course from spectators.
It is a popular start to the local running calendar and blows away the festive cobwebs.
There were 500 entrants, 16 of whom were representing the Skegness Coasters Running Club.
Fiona Fisher was first Coaster home once again, rolling in at an impressive 48:34, followed closely by husband Nathan in 49:32.
Rebecca Greenham and Paul Whitfield both achieved personal best times over the distance.
The overall winner was Richard Brown of the Lincoln Wellington running club with a time of 31:45
