SADRC runners clock up the PBs

Skegness and District Running Club fielded a whopping 93 runners in the popular annual Skegness 10k, hosted by Skegness Coasters on Sunday.

The course was along closed roads between Butlins and Skegness Water Leisure Park.

The weather was kind and was even rather warm at times for a December race.

First across the line for the club was William Kelly, who claimed eighth place overall in a rapid time of 36.04.

Ed Crawford was second club male to complete in 39.11, followed by Mark Collingwood in 39.27. 

For the ladies, Angela Thompson once again led the way and was 10th female overall in 45.12. Leanne Rickett and Gail Davies were second and third club ladies over the finish line in 48.00 and 48.55 respectively.

Personal best times were pouring in in spectacular numbers.

Among those to record PBs were Curtis Jones (44.35), Christina Hall (1:04.15), Martin Chapman (43.38), Charlotte Armsby and Georgina Bache (both 53.18), Ash Brown (44.38) and Louise Darrington.

The Skegness 10k also marked the race debut for Sonja Dexter, who crossed the line in 1:35.47.

Ian Walker faced his first race for the club with a chip time of 58.14.

Martin Beagley returned to running after completing the club’s recent couch to 5k course and was first male vet 60 home in 47.26, an amazing achievement.

Daniel Barnes and Karen Barton made their club debuts for Skegness with chip times of 48.22 and 1:07.36 respectively.

Tammy Rainbow represented Skegness and District Running Club in the Midlands Cross-country League on Saturday afternoon in Heanor, Derbyshire.

Tammy said it was a really tough course but was pleased to be representing the club.
