Rugby: Spirited Skegness 2nds defeated

The Skegness RUFC 2nds travelled to the new home of Lincoln Rugby Club on Saturday for a Lincolnshire Merit League fixture.

Although well beaten, the blue and whites did show some sustained periods of promising play where it seemed to be only a matter of time before they deservedly registered points. However Lincoln dominated and deservedly ran out winners.

Skegness battled admirably with outstanding performances from youngsters Joe Clarke and Joe Counter.

The seasiders welcomed back Alex Schofield and Luke Wilkinson, along with newcomer Neil Bunch and the spirit demonstrated by Anthony Hardy and Jack Phelpps epitomised the determination and commitment apparent throughout the team.

This coming Saturday, (October 12) sees Skegness 2nd XV travel to Scunthorpe .

Skipper Andy Hill would like to thank each member of the team for their commitment and hard work during a difficult away fixture.
