Seven members of Skegness Tri Club competed at the Castle Leisure Centre event in Spalding this weekend.

After a 400m pool swim, athletes had a long run to the transition area to then mount the bikes and commence the 19km cycle route, which lead out of Spalding and through nearby villages.

On returning to the transition area, a 5k two-loop run completed the race.

This was the tough section as temperatures reached 18 degrees.

Skegness results were: Matt Wain 1:04.15, Michael Irving 1:05.45 PB, Adam Worthington 1:11.00, Rich Vincent 1:12.10, David Johnson 1:12.26, Claire Draper 1:14.39, Michyla Clark 1:16.47 PB.

Three club members took part in the Woodhall Spa 10k race.

Again, warm conditions made it a tough event, but the boys achieved fantastic finish times.

Skegness results: Mark Wheeler 42.28 PB, Pete Nicholls 42.39, Lee St Quinton 43.46 PB.

A total of 24 people, aged from 14 to 71, took part in the second Go Tri duathlon, organised by Skegness Triathlon Club, based at Fresh Fitness.

The event consisted of a one-mile run, 6.2-mile bike ride and a one-mile run.

Taking part were novices and experienced triathletes, who used the event as a training session - all of whom could benefit from a qualified England triathlon coach who was on hand to offer tips and advice.

The next Go Tri event will be on Sunday, July 12.
