Skegness superkart racing driver Joshua Rayman kicked off his 2014 season in the 125 Open British Superkarts Championship last weekend.

Returning to Brands Hatch for his first time in seven years, Joshua Raced alongside the British Truck Championship superkarts, which boast a top speed of over 100mph.

The fast speeds kept the large crowds entertained as lap records on the scenic Kent circuit were repeatedly broken.

A new addition to the grid; Josh had a competitive debut weekend and worked his way up to 11th place after qualifying 21st the previous day.

Unfortunately Josh had to retire from his two races due to handling problems with the kart.

Despite these difficulties Josh still managed to post some competitive times, quickening his pace in each session.

Josh said: “It was a difficult weekend but we are very happy to see our hard work over the winter months paying off on circuit.”

The British Superkart Championship will be visiting Snetterton on May 10 and 11 for the second round of the 2014 season.
