A Skegness guest house has had the pleasure of playing host to some very important members of an annual bowls tournament.

Pat and Adrain Brown of the Mickleton Guest House, North Parade, have had players’ staying annually for over 10 years during the English Bowling Federation & English Women’s Bowling Federation’s Championship Week, which kicked off on Saturday at the North Greens, North Parade site, with the heats taking place this week.

“Some of the players have been staying for 10 years, and others five to seven years. They stay every year and re-book for the following,” said Pat. “It’s exciting and a busy time. We don’t get to go down to watch, apart from once as we’re always busy preparing the breakfast and the evening meal.”

Keith Crabbe has been staying with the Mickleton for 10 years, as well as Eleanor Nicholson and Carol and Colin Griffin.

“We’d like to thank all of them for coming to stay and also the Mayor and Mayoress for visiting,” said Pat.

The Mayor of Skegness, Jim Carpenter, will present prizes at the end of the English Bowling Federation (EBF) Tournament in September.
