Marine cement their place at the top with convincing victory

Darts league top team Marine a travelled to New Park Rangers this week and led from pillar to post to record a 9-1 victory, with Graham Froud getting the rangers only score, Carl Abbiss 180, 127, 140, and 17 dart leg , Mark Gray 2 x 140, Mark Forman 121, 125, three x 140, 18 darter, Dan Starkey 125, 134, 135, 140 were Marine high scorers, while Rangers high scorers were Graham Fitton 123, 125, 140, Graham Froud 121, 140, and Jon Molson 121, 135.

The only other game in this division saw Boathouse 501’s take on Countryman, 501’s playing without captain Chris Fletcher appeared to have missed his leadership as they trailed five one going into the last round of singles, they then shared the last four singles to give the Countryman a healthy seven three victory, a result that hauls the Countryman off the foot of the table, 501’s high scorers Jamie Cooper 2 x 125, 140, Gary Garton 125, 129, 138, 3 x 140, 180, while Countryman had Ken Wilson 121, 135, 2 x 140, 145, and Darrell Webb 128, 140 on target.

Highwayman Hustlers were at home to Leaders Finegans and in a match where the game was much closer than the score suggested it was Finegans who ran out the healthy 10-0 victors, to cement their position at the top of the league, and even at the half way stage look unstoppable Hustlers had Natalie Weston hitting 125, two x 140, while Finegans top scorer was Russ Millar 123, three x 140. Seaview Raiders had a seven three away win at Boathouse Baracuddas, Steve ‘Sir Limpalot’ Emsen was Raiders top scorer with 125, two x 140, Baracuddas high scorer was Paula Swain hitting 133, 140 and a 92 finish.

The final game in this division was a much closer affair with Railroad Cobras and Liberal Lads sharing the first set of singles. Cobras took advantage winning the pairs and were on the verge of victory after taking the first of the final singles to lead 5-1, but the Liberal had other ideas.
