The Kwik E Mart store in Alford has donated £800 to Skegness Rugby Club to purchase a new strip.

More than 2000 independent stores are supplied by Nisa throught the UK, who fund schemes whereby money is raised for local clubs and charities.

The scheme works by a specified amount of the cost of certain products promoted in store being allocated to the retailers’ chosen fund.

Participating members are then able to choose local charities or good causes which they wish to donate to.

Mike Cooper, owner of the Kwik E Mart said: “We are pleased to be able to donate to the rugby club.

“Helping our community is very important to us and we will continue to support local good causes through the ‘making the difference’ charity”.

Tim Farnsworth, member of Skegness Rugby club said: “The team strip helps to create a sense of belonging and teamwork which in turn boosts morale at the club.

“We would like to thank the staff at the store for choosing us; their kindness is much appreciated.”
