Skegness and District Running Club visited Liverpool for a weekend full of running and music.
Eight members took part in the city’s half-marathon and three tackled the full marathon, including Kerry and Bob Green who were running their first marathon.
The Rock & Roll Marathon organisers hosted a superb event with live bands, choirs or groups playing at almost every mile point.
The half-marathon course takes in some fantastic sights including The Cavern Club, Penny Lane and Sefton Park while the last few miles took runners alongside the River Mersey.
The club’s half-marathon runners were Andy Shelton, Helen Blair, Ian Russell, Charlotte Armsby – who was competing in her first half – Paul Sleaford, Lee and Georgina Bache, and Helena Shelton.
On the full marathon course, the runners were also treated to running around Goodison Park, home of Everton FC and Anfield, home of Liverpool.
The first club runner home was Martin Tebbs, who ran a good race in the heat, and the cheers rang out for Kerry and Bob Green as they ran a superb debut marathon.
Kerry’s time was 4hr 23min 29secs with Bob, being the gentleman, crossing the finish line just one second behind her.
