Seathorne Judo Club this week announced the continuance of their sponsorship by Fresh Fitness, of Richmond Drive.
Fresh Fitness have agreed to continue to sponsor the Junior Judoka of the Month award in the form of a training top, which can be worn under a Judo Gi whilst training. It is awarded by the club instructors to the Judoka who has performed especially well, or has put in the most effort.
Fresh Fitness have also sponsored training tops for senior members of the club. These were presented to club Sensei Mark Mason by Fresh Fitness assistant manager,Miles Green and his associate Callum Barlow at Tuesday’s training session at Seathorne School.
The first recipient of this award was Warren Grace for his continued commitment and outstanding competition results in recent competitions.
l Members of the Seathorne and Skegness Judo clubs attended a junior age competition at Gainsborough Leisure Centre last Sunday and came away with one gold, three silver and one bronze medal.
The under-10 boys’ was contested by Will Midgeley who performed admirably, winning one contest despite being only eight and by far the smallest competitor. The under-12 boys’ saw two entrants in Lewis Grace and Ethan Steele. Lewis won silver, only losing to Ethan who took the gold by winning all five of his contests.
Katie Marsden contested the under-14 girls’ and won two of her three contests to take the silver medal.
In the under-14 boys’, Warren Grace took silver, losing only in the final. He then went on to enter the under-16 boys’ competition with Jordan Dance. Warren this time took bronze, whilst Jordan missed out on the medals despite only losing one of his three contests.
