Peter Hickman powered the Lee Hardy Racing/Iron Maiden Trooper beer MV Agusta Supersport bike to a strong 11th place in the second Supersport race at the Isle of Man TT festival on Wednesday, posting his fastest ever lap of the course in the class.
He clocked 17 mins 57.288 secs - 126.083mph - on his final lap.
As the four lap race got underway, Hicky made up ground to 19th at the first checkpoint on corrected time.
And by the time he reached Ramsey he was up into 11th place.
He moved up a place to 10th at the end of the first lap and held station until he reached Ramsey on lap two when he was back down to 11th.
He maintained 11th to the pit stop at the end of the lap and this time the bike fired up first time after refuelling.
With two laps remaining, Hickman remained in 11th position, but was gaining time on David Johnson, although he was unable to reel him in and crossed the finish line in 11th, just six seconds behind on corrected time.
Hickman sais: “I haven’t ridden a Supersport bike for at least 10 years so to set this fast pace this week is amazing.
“The MV Agusta is a fantastic bike to ride and I have really enjoyed my two races on it.
“Thanks to the boys at Lee Hardy Racing for the fast refuelling time and also Iron Maiden Trooper and all my sponsors for their support.”
Hicky has just one more race at this year’s TT and that is the blue riband Senior TT.
Last year he posted a 129mph lap on his final circulation of the TT course and was acclaimed as a rising new star of the festival.
He has already surpassed that speed in the Superstock race this year, lapping just shy of 130mph and will be setting his sights at joining the 130 club on Friday.
