Golf Club competitions raise £600 for charity

THE North Shore Golf Club in Skegness has raised £600 for the club captain’s chosen charity after a weekend of competitions recently.

President Sahun Duncombe held his President’s Day on Saturday, June 2.

Sixty-four members and guests entered the competition with some very good scores despite blustery conditions.

Result - President’s Day - 1, Sam Patten, (h/c 6), 40pts; 2, Nick Martyn, (h/c 12), 39pts; 3, Curtis Balding, (h/c 5), 39pts after count back.

Lady Captain Margaret Offler held her captain’s day on Saturday, June 2.

Nineteen members entered the competition. The ladies played for the Carolyn Wilkinson Centenary Trophy.

Result - 1, Ruth Robertson; 2, Vicky Perry; 3, Sue Porter; 4, Michaela Dorrian. (Second, third and fourth places all decided after count back).

The Mixed Greensome competition was won by club captains Des Bunn and Margaret Offler.

Club Captain Des Bunn held his captain’s day on Monday, June 4.

There was a fantastic turnout of 80 members and guests. It incorporated player donations to charities for various tasks during the day.

Result - 1, M. R. Brown, 83-12, 71; 2, A. Ditchfield, 74-1, 73; 3, S. Patten, 79-5, 74.
