Champions Marine A traveled to Countryman - and what a game it was.
The away team led from pillar to post with an abundance of high scores - Kristian Thein kicked things off with 121, 2 x 123, 3 x 140 and legs in 18 and 20 darts, Mark forman had 3 x 140 and 180, Carl Abbiss then hit 121, 134, 137, 2 x 140, 180 and legs of 15, 19 darts and then legs in the pairs of 17 and 24.
Carl’s partner Sam Hewson hit 121, 140 2 x 180 and the league’s highest finish of 161 - talk about ending the season on a high.
Darrell Webb 121, 135, 2 x 140 and a 20 dart leg, Chris Hancock 121, 140, and Steve Gillings 2 x 140 responded for the Countryman.
Second-placed Wainfleet Outsiders beat Boathouse 501s 6-4 with 501’s Gary Garton being the star of the night, hitting 120, 3 x 140, 180 and a 16 and 18 dart leg with a 29-plus average against Martin Bell in his final singles.
Lee Woods also chipped in with 121 and 139 for the home side.
New Park Rangers took on Barkham Arms in a double header match; playing two games in one night, with Barkham winning 6-4 and then a five all draw in what was two very close games.
Barkham had Chris Simpson 120, 2 x 121, 3 x 140 and fantastic 14 and 15 dart legs. Steve Kirkham hit 121, 136, 3 x 140, Anthony Hulley notched 120, 122, 123, 125, 134, 6 x 140 and a 19 dart leg for Barkham and New Park had Ray McIvor with 121, 125, 140, Graham Fitton 120, 125, 135, 137 3 x 140 and 110 finish on the mark.
In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division Two, one outstanding game was played out as Highwayman Hustlers took on WMC Amigos.
The result was a landslide victory for the away side, running out comfortable 9-1 winners,
Captain Carla Smith got the solitary win; leaving the ladies winless in their first season. )And now all that remains is the singles.
The blind draw pairs and presentation night at the Marine Boathouse takes place on Friday, October 24.
The Winter league also starts on Friday (October 24) with two knockout cup prelims.
The Liberal Adams Family take on the Vine and Welcome Hillbillies play host to Cricket Club.
All league fixtures have been delivered to captains and or pubs as the league fixtures kick off on Friday, October 31 .
Week five has just taken place of the Marine boathouse £10,000 darts series.
Another winner from Skegness, Tony Holland, makes it three local players in the hat to battle out for the £5,000 top prize in April.
