Thirteen-year-old Evie Toombes won the Horsezone.co.uk Para Club Equestrian Junior Grade III Championship in the Andrews Bowen Indoor Arena at the British Showjumping National Championships last week.
The class was held as part of The Horsezone.co.uk Para Club Championships, which consisted of six titles awarded in various grades.
The grading system ranges from Grade I, II, III, IV and Open with grades representative of the competitor’s level of disability.
Evie, from the Skegness area, was partnering Penshaws Party Time, an 18-year-old dark bay gelding owned by Caroline Toombes.
Evie has been diagnosed with lipomyelomeningocele, a form of spina bifida.
For Evie, horses are her therapy and she was quite rightly delighted with her performance.
