Eighteen teams registered for the league at the Ladbrokes Darts League AGM - the same number as last year.
The only absentee was the Vine, and it was nice to welcome back to the league the Welcome Anchors.
All teams need to have their team sheets returned to the Workingmen’s Club by 8.30pm on Friday, September 20.
The only rule change at the meeting was that on putting down the players’ names on the sheet.
Under the new arrangement the home captain will put his team down then fold the sheet in half, and the away captain will then put his team down without seeing the home team’s players. The same will then happen for the doubles.
The captains still dictate where their players will play, but not who they are playing.
The league will start on November 1 with an exhibition at the Liberal Club in Skegness by the 1988 world champion, Bob Anderson.
It’s free entry and there are 10 spots to play him up for grabs in the form of a raffle for league players.
Meanwhile, the league’s Chris Fletcher has two big announcements for members.
He said: “The first is that I have managed to secure the services of “Silverback” Tony Oshea, and MC John Fowler, for next year’s presentation night in May.
“And also, in January with backing from the Liberal Club, we have booked two-time PDC world champion Adrian Lewis and MC John Fowler for an exhibition,.
“These are two huge dates for the league and the town, as both players are amongst the favourites to win their respective world championships.
“Once again a massive thanks to all our sponsors - Ladbrokes, Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd, the Ex-Service Club, the Liberal Club, The Workingmen’s Club and Seaview,.
“It is with their help that we are able to bring the big stars in darts to Skegness,” he added.
If any pub, club, or business would like to sponsor the league, contact Chris Fletcher on 07789 405588, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
