Skegness’ Darcie Proud is a national table tennis champion.
The 12-year-old teamed up with Ruby Chan to win the under 13 girls’ doubles at the U10-U13 National Championships in Preston.
The number one seeds breezed into the final, where they defeated second seeds Gemma Kerr and Holly Smithson 3-0 (11-2, 11-6, 11-8).
Proud also won silver in the singles at the same age group, losing out to number one Jasmin Wong 3-1.
Proud beat second seed Kerr 3-2 in the semis.
She said: “I would say the singles medal is better because I’ve never got that far before and you’re all by yourself and have to do it on your own. But it’s really, really good to have a national title.”
