A relatively new member of Skegness Coasters Running Club ran in the Rome Marathon on Sunday.
Sue Smith started running last year when she joined the first Skegness Coasters Couch to 5k course and found she had a natural love and rapport with running.
Her membership with the club has seen her go from strength to strength and ahe has since completed two half marathons.
After receiving her medal, Sue said: “There was light rain for most of the run and the crowds were fantastic with lots of UK visitors shouting ‘go on Skeggy’.
“There were water stations at every 5k, with wet sponge stations at every 7.5k and fruit stations at every 15k.
“The run included some cobbles which were odd to run on but overall it was a fabulous event with a fabulous medal.”
Sue also explained how her legs did not feel her own at the end of the 26 miles.
Sue completed the Rome Marathon in a time of 5.27.50 seconds.
