Chris Reader has completed his first full Ironman challenge - raising cash for charity along the way.
The Skegness Tri Club member successfully finished one of the toughest sporting tests on the planet, completing the Bolton Ironman Triathlon on Sunday.
The gruelling discipline included a 2.4-mile open water lake swim in Pennington Flash and a 112-mile bike leg.
If the ebergy isn’t sapped enough by then, competitors finish off by running a marathon.
But Chris concluded his 26.2-mile run to cross the finishing line in an overall time of 11 hours 56 minutes and 1 second.
This was an amazing time considering Chris was still recovering from a hip injury and nerve damage following a bike crash two weeks ago.
Ironman Chris also completed a a half ironman event in Staffordshire five weeks earlier, taking on both events in order to raise cash for Cancer Research in memory of his uncle Ray and close friends.
