SOUTHVIEW’S Ian Boden won the latest Southview Skegness Open on Saturday.

He drew a flyer and made the best of it on a hard match.

Fishing waggler and feeder with maggot at thirty yards, he bagged small carp to two pounds and, despite getting snagged up many times, he still managed to put 45lb 5oz on the scales in the four-and-a-half hours.

n CHAPEL Beach Angling Club’s third match of the year was won by Dave Burr with a catch of 14 fish and a bag weight of 6lb 9 1/2oz.

Fished at Chapel Six Marshes between 6pm and 10pm on Saturday, the anglers enjoyed a clear sky and a westerly breeze.

The sea was choppy but the anglers found it easy to hold, although there was a lot of weed for the first couple of hours.

In total 12 anglers turned out and between them they caught a total of 53 fish.
