Attic win the highly anticipated clash

The Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Darts League Skegness saw the highly-anticipated clash between The Attic and Seaview Next Tuesday - and what a game it was.

The Web Signs Division One clash delivered six maximums.

The Attic raced into a 4-1 lead after the singles thanks to Greg Richardson (100x 2, 140x3, 121, 180 and legs in 17 and 20 darts), Rob Hewson (100x3, 121, 133, 135, 3x140 and 13 and 18 dart legs), Charlie Kemp (4x100, 137, 2x140 and 19 and 21 darters) and Jonathan Thorndike (100, 124 and 140) despite Seaview’s Kristian Thein (2x100, 123, 180) and Nathan Careless (3x100, 127, 2x180) pushing hard.

They rallied a little taking the doubles but lost the trebles and won three of the remaining singles, Attic winning 7-5.

Sam Hewson (100x2, 101, 135, 140, 2x180 and a 15 dart singles and a 15 dart pairs leg with partner  Sean Kirby) and George Stocks (2x100, 140) gave the Seaview some hope.

Rowdy Mob inflicted a crushing 11-1 defeat on the Ex Service Sports.

Rick Garner (8x100, 121, 140), Mark Forman (5x100, 2x140, 180 114 finish and a 15 darter), Martin Bell (7x100, 3x140) and David Tuplin (2x100, 101, 121, 132, 137, 100 finish) did the most damage.

Sports had Brad Martin (9x100, 2x140) and Pete Evans (123, 4x140) on the sheet.

Highwayman continued their impressive start to the season by running out 8-4 winners against Ex Service Cobras.

Captain Wayne Clarkewas in fine form.

He hit nine scores of 100 or better while new signing Darren Taylor hit 5x100, 121, 140).

Mark Williams hit 5x100, Dave Brewin threw eight tons or better and Scott Smith added an 18 darter.

Tom Thornton was the pick for the Cobras with an impressive 6x100, 103, 121, 125, 2x140.

Ex Service 501s enjoyed an 8-4 win over Red Arrows but had to rely on Reserve Natalie Abbiss to make the numbers up.

She did well, recording her first win over Stuart Hodson (100, 125, 140) along the way.

Other high scores for the 501s were Carl Abbiss (4x100, 3x140, 180), Carl Parnham (8x100, 2x125, 137, 2x140 and legs in 13, 15 and 19 darts) and Chris Fletcher (8x100, 125, 180 and a 21 dart leg).

Red Arrows’ highlights came from Nick Casswell (5x100, 140), Stuart Hodson (5x100), Mark Simpson (2x100, 125, 140) and Paul Tuplin (2x100, 123 and a fantastic 164 finish).

In the Piper Window Systems Ltd Division Two, there were big wins and high scores too.

Jewson Seaview Raiders took on Welcome Hillbillies and dished out a 7-1 thrashing, Hillbillies’ only point coming from John Upton (100, 2x120) while M. Brooks (2x100, 129) was also on target for them.

The Raiders had Ray Witton (2x140), Steven Emsen (100, 116) and star man Peter East (100, 123, 135, 2x140, 105 finish) on the sheet.

Cricket Club had a crushing 6-2 win over Liberal Us - with nearly 30 sheet shots between them and a 109 finish.

Ex Service Spitfires romped away with their game against the Vine Allstars with a 7-1 win, Vine waiting until the team game to get their point.

Spitfires had Martin Boss (6x100) as their highest scorer and, for the Vine, it was their captain Miles Hartley (2x100 and 140).

Liberal Lads had a big 7-1 win away at the WMC Aces, again the team game was their saving grace.

Lads, had Gordon Mcquillan (4x100, 125), Rob Pomeroy (3x100, 2x140) and Terry Cox (2x100, 116, 119, 125, 2x140) to thank for their big win.
