Alcoholic Shrew Monkeys travelled to Liberal Club and came away with a massive 9-1 win in the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division One of the William Hill Darts League.

High scores in this game came from Julian Smith (3x100), 125) and Gordon McQuillan (3x100, 135, 140) for Liberal.

Monkeys’ Martin Bell (3x100, 121, 140, 2x180), David Tuplin (2x100, 135, 3x140), Lee Yates (3x100, 125, 140) and Colin Lees (6x100, 180) threw well.

Their nearest rivals met at the Barkham, with Barkham Arms taking on New Park Rangers.

It was the Rangers who proved too strong, gaining a 6-4 win, moving four points clear of the Barkham.

Countryman Dads Army took on Boathouse 501s in a basement battle, and the away side just edged this 6-4 to hoist themselves off the bottom, leaving the countryman propping the table up.

In the Sid Dennis and Sons Ltd Division Two, Boathouse Bouys caused a bit of an upset as they beat highflying Seaview Raiders 6-4 - a result that all but puts paid to the promotion chances of the Seaview.

David Saunders (2x100, 132, 135, 140), Mark Saunders (100, 133) and Jack Saunders (4x100) were on target for the home side, obviously liking the new set up at the Marine.

Finnegans found leaders Railway Cobras too strong as Cobras won 7-3, and are now four points clear at the top.

Second-placed WMC Amigos had a comfortable 8-2 win over Three Tuns to maintain second spot, and are now four points in front of Seaview.

Mick Jones (2x100, 123, 140), Spencer Davis (2x100, 132) and David Reding (3x100, 117) were the high scorers for Amigos.

The Winter League AGM saw two teams drop out, but a new one set to join. A total of 16 teams have registered an interest, while Royal Oak were not represented. Charnwood Hotel are the new team.
