After a slow start he beached ten dabs, a whiting and a flounder for a bag weight of 7lb 3oz. To make a good day complete, he also won both the heaviest round and flatfish prizes, with his 1lb 2oz whiting and 1lb 1oz flounder respectively.

Some way behind in second place was Dave Bradley, who weighed in 11 dabs for 5lb 3oz. Russ Lee travelled from Leicester to fish his first ever sea match and took third place with nine dabs weighing 4lb 8oz.
