Her tenure has overseen the transformation of the organisation from merely focusing on increasing sport participation to one that is tasked with getting more people, more active, more often, whatever the activity.

The culmination of this work will be the launch of Lincolnshire Active on March 31 at Lincoln Castle.

Janet said: “I have had a tremendous 17 years at Lincolnshire Sport in various roles and now feels the right time to look for a fresh challenge.

“I will be announcing a new vision for the county for 2021 at the end of the month which will help to create a more active and healthy population.

“I would like to thank past and present staff and board members at Lincolnshire Sport for their hard work and support.

“It has made my job a pleasure and I am sure that the organisation will continue to go from strength to strength with such a talented team.

“I have also made many friendships over the years with so many partners across Lincolnshire and they have been critical in helping us to achieve success.”

Dan Ellmore, acting chair of Lincolnshire Sport, said: “On behalf of the board and everyone at Lincolnshire Sport I would like to thank Janet for her inspirational leadership over the last seven years.

“She has been an innovator and has ensured that Lincolnshire Sport is one of the most highly-regarded county sports partnerships in the country.

“I wish Janet every success in the next chapter of her career.

“I will now be working with the rest of the board to find a new chief executive that can help us to deliver the new vision for Lincolnshire.”
