SWIFTS JFC found themselves facing Hykeham Tigers for an away fixture at the weekend, and as Swifts were victorious last time the two teams met, they were full of confidence.

However, it was Hykeham who found the back of the visitors’ net three times before half time, despite missing a penalty!

The Tigers outplayed Swifts in every department and it showed.

Swifts changed things around for the start of the second half but they continued to be punished, with Tigers scoring a fourth goal.

Midfielder Ellie Cunliffe seemed to be the only player on the field for Swifts, as she fought hard for her team, trying to create something from nothing.

Tigers scored their fifth goal of the match with a chip to the far post over the struggling Swifts keeper.

The visitors scored a consolation goal as CK Wilson found the back of the net with a fantastic strike that was just too strong for the Tigers’ keeper to keep hold of.

Swifts now face a run of four difficult fixtures at Jubilee Park, including a cup match against A league Fishtoft, who saw off Alford Town two weeks ago.
