A sports mad Todwick Primary pupil has been rewarded for his dedication in no less than three disciplines.

Kieran Street was presented with a Search for a Sporting Star gold award at the English Institute of Sport, after impressing the competition judges with a video presentation.

Mum Rachel explained to the Guardian how her son, a keen athlete, martial artist and footballer, won the award: “There was a competition last year, hosted by Toni Minichiello, Jessica Ennis’ coach.”

“Kids had to pick a category and make a one minute video Youtube video all about themselves.”

“Kieran’s brother Callum made the video for him and they sent it off, and it won gold in his category.”

Kieran is a black belt in martial arts, a member of City of Sheffield Athletics Club and plays football for Kiveton Park Juniors.

The 11-year-old’s mum is understandably proud of his various sporting achievements.

She said: “It was really nice to see him get the award and I’m happy for him because he does work really hard, and he enjoys it.”

“His black belt came after a seven hour grading, he’s won medals at athletics and his football team won the league this year.”

The Search for a Sporting Star certificate was presented to the North Anston youngster by long jumper and Olympic hopeful Jazmin Sawyers.

The award included a year’s pass that gives Kieranaccess to any Sheffield International Venues facilities and athletics training.
