Skegness Town set for Horncastle test

Skegness Town missed a chance to close the gap on leaders Sleaford Town Reserves when their Lincolnshire League fixture against title rivals Wyberton was postponed.

The pitch at Burgh Road was waterlogged, following heavy rain earlier in the week, and the Seasiders may now have to entertain the villagers in midweek as they have nine league games still to play.

The Lilywhites’ recent good run means their destiny is in their own hands after Sleaford’s second string suffered another defeat at home to CGB Humbertherm on Saturday.

Standing in their way on Saturday are neighbours Horncastle Town who have climbed into seventh in the table thanks to a four-game unbeaten run.

The derby match at The Wong kicks off at 3pm and is expected to attract a large crowd as the Town attempt to extend their unbeaten league run to nine games.
