THE new Skegness Town management team has been impressed by the response from players as they prepare for the season ahead.
In excess of 50 players have attended training sessions and most have put pen to paper to sign for the Lilywhites.
“We have been encouraged by the quality and commitment the players have shown us,” said Gary Edgley.
“We identified a list of players that we wanted to sign this year and apart from two or three we have completed all of these. We are confident we will have the others on board before our first pre-season game.”
A reserve side will play Chapel Swifts at Burgh Road on Friday (kick-off 7pm), while on Saturday the first team kick-off their warm up fixtures with the visit of Peterborough Sports on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
And Edgley is expecting a good turn out of supporters as the club unveils its newlook squads of young local players.
“We are building for the future, getting many young players on board,” he said.
“The coaching team of Chris Reynolds, Chris Hancock and Scott Daley have been fantastic and have given up a lot of time to help me and John (Barker) to develop the players physically, technically and mentally for the step up they will take this season.”
