Skegness Town 1
Sleaford Town Reserves 4
A disappointing display by the Lilywhites saw them crumble to defeat at home to Sleaford Town’s second string on Saturday.
The three points lifted the visitors to the top of the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League, but left Lilywhites boss Nick Chapman an unhappy man.
“It was a poor performance. Having taken the lead we let them off the hook and they ran out deserved winners,” he reflected.
The seasiders took the lead thanks to an overhead kick from Will Britton, but Jac Wright levelled before the break.
Half-time substitute Jasper Caudwell put the visitors ahead early in the second half and former Nettleham striker Jason Barratt, following up a Wright effort, made it 3-1.
Caudwell wrapped up the scoring to complete a miserable afternoon.
Chapman’s hopes of bouncing back with a win on Saturday have not been helped by the unavailability of influential defender Miles Chamberlain and leading scorer McCauley Parker.
Both will be missing from the starting line-up when CGB Humbertherm visit Burgh Road in the Supplementary Cup (KO 3pm).
