TIME trial action over the weekend was centred on the Skendleby area, when the Skegness Wheelers held their open 10 mile event.
The winner was Tony Nash, of the Scunthorpe Poly Club, in 20 mins 46 secs, with John Surtees, of the East Yorkshire based team Swift in second in 22 mins 1 sec, and Chris O’Rourke, of Alford Wheelers, third in 22 mins 28 secs.
Alford riders had a very good afternoon, and were among the prizes in all the sections.
In the veteran’s fastest section, Mark Hill was placed third in 23-32, and in the veteran’s age related standards, John Needham claimed another first place in 25-03, giving him a plus of 6 mins 42 secs.
More awards came Alford’s way in the handicap section, where Andrew Mawer, in 29-32, and Mark Bembridge, in 24-37, took second and third places.
Team Shields also came to Alford with Chris O’Rourke, Peter Rothery (22-49 and first junior) and Adam Coffey (23-25) giving a total time of 1 hr 7 mins 42 secs.
